Funny Cats

The Felidae family ( biological classification ) includes lions (Panthera leo), tigers (Panthera tigris), domestic cats (house cats), and other felines as its members.

The most known and loved feline is the domestic cat (subspecies Felis silvestris catus), which first became associated with humans thousands of years ago in Egypt where cats were sacrificed as offerings to the goddess Bastet, and their mummified remains were placed in graves.

Other well-known members of the feline family include big kittens such as the lion (Panthera leo), tiger (Panthera tigris), leopard (Panthera pardus), jaguar (Panthera onca), puma (Puma concolor or the cougar or mountain lion), cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), lynx, caracal (Persian lynx or African lynx or Caracal caracal or Felis caracal), and bobcat (Lynx rufus or Felis rufus).
